01 Our story

A LITTLE COURAGE
AND A LOT OF HEART

Berrigan Wines is a boutique, family owned winery in the Adelaide Hills. We grow our own fruit, work sustainably in the vines and craft small batches in the winery.

In 2020, Dan Berrigan and Wendi Ticao took a leap of faith and made Shining Rock Vineyard their own. Today, every decision in the vineyard flows straight into the glass.

02 The vineyard

SHINING ROCK
VINEYARD

Mica schist that shimmers in the sunlight. Granite outcrops. Warm days and cool nights. Our 15-hectare vineyard in Nairne sits in a rain-shadow and is a place with a character all its own.

At 400 metres above sea level, the fruit develops the freshness, texture and balance that define our Adelaide Hills wines.

Great wine is made in the vineyard. Our hands-on approach is guided by respect for the land and a belief that balance matters more than power.

In the vineyard

A lighter footprint.

Winter sheep grazing, mechanical weeding and composting grape skins and seeds help us care for the soil and support biodiversity.

In the winery

Thoughtfully powered.

Solar energy and a 51 kWh battery support our winery, while careful water monitoring helps us use only what the vines need.

Both our vineyard and winery are certified through Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
