Growing conditions were ideal for our first Shiraz vintage, from vines planted in 1998.
A small selected parcel was fermented in an open fermenter, hand plunged and basket-pressed. It was then matured in American and French oak barriques for 16 months.
The result is a big, rich wine with a silky mouth feel, and abundant red berry flavours. Cellaring will definitely reward.

Creighton
Farm 2003 Cabernet Merlot is a delightful blend of 80%
Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Selected
parcels were handpicked. Partial whole bunch fermentation
in an open fermenter preceded maturation in new French
and American oak for 12 months. This has achieved complexity
of fruit flavours and a subtle oak influence.
The result is a well rounded medium to full bodied wine which can be consumed
now or cellared for 3-5 years.
“...a
nice mix of ripe fruit, firmish tannins and balanced
vanillin oak. Has a slightly dusty earthiness mingling
with the more lush flavours. Medium to full bodied and
eminently drinkable...”
from Ray Jordan’s Guide to Wine
2005/06.
